Group Business Director (fixed term contract until Feb 2026)

Job Description

Clemenger BBDO is looking for a Group Business Director to join our Sydney team in a fixed term contract until February 2026.

As a team leader within Clemenger BBDO, you have a crucial role to play in helping navigate us on our journey from being a creative agency to becoming a world-class creative company.

Core responsibilities:  

• Company vision: As a team leader – your role is to support the leadership team in ensuring that our vision is clear to our clients and to everyone in your team.
• Revenue growth: Seeking out organic growth opportunities will be a key part of your role. You will always be on the lookout for opportunities to expand and grow the business and our offering – to think and act entrepreneurially.
• Operating efficiencies: You're in charge of making sure that the team is humming. You will always have your eye on our systems and processes, looking to drive greater efficiencies with your business management teams and how projects move through the agency.
• Team Development: People excel in things that they enjoy. As the leader of your team, we want you to design motivating and meaningful roles for our people. Your team should feel important and valued. This is achieved through clear roles set up, constant monitoring and guidance and a genuine investment in their success.
• Thought leadership: We're looking to you to inspire and influence both inside and outside the Clemenger walls. With your depth of experience and industry knowledge, you will inspire our people, our clients, and our partners.

Knowledge and experience:

• 8+ years of applicable experience with a strong cross functional background
• Leadership experience: Inspiring people at all levels and building a culture of high performance. You lead change and invest in others growth & success.
• Communication & Collaboration: Can win over clients and sell ideas with relative ease. Presents confidently & convincingly, and communicates a compelling view of the organisation's purpose and its future state
• Critical Thinking & Innovation: Thinks big to stay ahead of evolving client needs and unlocks future opportunity. Makes the right strategic tradeoffs to deliver customer & employee value.
• Craft & Quality: Passion for the power of creative thinking to create real & positive impact for people, culture, brands & businesses. Works closely with Department Heads to make sure the work is of the highest quality and consistent with client needs and expectations.
• Business Acumen: experience leading client remuneration negotiations working in conjunction with the Finance Director and other key agency staff. Successfully grows & protects business & profit margins whilst minimizing risk.
• Leads and lives the values, and shapes organizational strategy to reflect the values
